Porton Nature Hideouts is located on the western coast of Istria. Its beach offers one of the most attractive views of the old town of Rovinj, which is about a 15-minute walk away. The campsite is set in the shade of an old pine forest and provides an excellent balance between relaxation and active pursuits, such as exploring the town. As the name suggests, a stay at Porton Nature Hideouts Campsite is a gateway to your own private oasis where you can become one with nature.

HIGHLIGHTS:

  • close to Rovinj, one of the most beautiful Istrian towns
  • unique modular concept of mobile homes (separate living and sleeping areas) with private pool

Accommodation options

The pitches and camping grounds are shaded by tall pines and range in size from 25 m2 (for tents) to 90 m2 (for large campers). All have electricity and the largest pitches also have water and drainage hook-ups.

The more luxurious mobile homes are modular and come in a variety of styles, all of which blend in well with the natural surroundings. They range in size from 23 to 46 m2, have a private pool and a spacious terrace of 30 to 50 m2 in size. There are additional two types of mobile homes, each with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen, a living room, and a covered terrace. Some also have a private pool.

There are two sanitary facilities with hot water, laundry facilities, and dog showers. One of the two is accessible to people with disabilities.

Beaches

The campsite’s beaches are a combination of gravel and paved stone plateaus, with sun loungers and umbrellas available for hire. A road connecting the campsite to the town centre separates it from the beach.

There is a beach bar, and a variety of water sports on offer: guests can hire a beach canoe, try windsurfing, or bounce and jump around an inflatable water park. There is also a dog-friendly beach nearby.

Restaurants, bars and shops

The campsite has a restaurant serving local and international cuisine and a beach snack bar serving drinks and snacks.

There is also a well-stocked grocery shop, bakery, and a newsstand.

Sports and entertainment

There is a children’s playground nearby, as well as several sports and recreational facilities, including beach volleyball, a basketball court, and a diving course.

Guests can learn to ride horses at the nearby Sv. Eufemija equestrian club, participate in fitness classes or hire kayaks, boats, and bicycles to explore the exciting local attractions.

What to do and see in and around Rovinj?

Few Istrian towns are as photogenic as Rovinj, so a walk through the old town is simply a must. In addition to charming galleries, cliffside bars, and small restaurants, the old town is always alive with chatter and vibrant with colourful flowers and freshly washed laundry fluttering above the heads of passers-by.

We invite you to visit the Batana Eco-Museum in Rovinj, which is listed in the UNESCO Register of Best Practices for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of the World.

Rent a bike and ride along the former route of the Rovinj-Kanfanar railway line (Štrika Ferata trail), to the Zlatni rt park forest, the Palud ornithological reserve, or the Lim Bay, stopping at one of the nearby family farms or wine cellars. Istria is known as the gourmet capital of Croatia, so it comes as no surprise that enjoying local specialities and wines is high on the list of priorities for hedonists and foodies.
