Campsites in the Lika-Senj region offer accommodation in quiet locations, often directly by the sea, and thanks to their smaller size, you will often get tips for local restaurants and attractions in direct contact with the owners.
All those who like to enjoy the sun and swimming will be delighted by some of the famous beaches of this region, such as the pebble beaches in the campsites Straško and Šimuni or the famous party beaches Zrće on the island of Pag. Along the Adriatic Highway you can stop in Karlobag and swim on the local beach Tatinja, while a little further north, near the town of Jablanac, those with an adventurous spirit should explore the Zavratnica bay.
As this region consists of a beautiful coast with islands, but also of the mountain Velebit that stretches above the coast, you can also hike while camping in the Lika-Senj region, and for the adventurous ones we suggest exploring the famous Premužić trail, a 57 km long hiking trail that partly passes through the Northern Velebit National Park.
Special attention should be paid to the local cuisine and specialties that the inhabitants of this area are extremely proud of. On the island of Pag you can taste the well-known Pag sheep cheese, and in the town of Gligora there are cheese factories where you can buy cheese directly from the producer. The continental part of the region is dominated by meat specialties, and the king among them is Lika lamb, which is prepared in several traditional ways and goes well with homegrown Lika potatoes.
