What to do and see on the island of Pag?
Pag is famous for its moon-like landscapes and extensive drystone walls, spanning over a thousand kilometres. The island has become a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts, especially cyclists, rock climbers, kayakers, and runners, who find its landscapes and seascapes perfect for training. The bridge connecting its south side to the mainland makes it easy to embark on an excursion and explore Zadar and its surroundings. The staff at the campsite's information centre can assist you in selecting experiences tailored to your preferences. These may include excursions to national parks and islands.
In the nearby town of Novalja, you can visit the museum to see the attractive Roman aqueduct. The north-western part of the island is home to the beautiful olive groves of Lun, which includes an olive tree that is over 2,000 years old. When visiting Pag town, make sure to check out the Museum of Salt and the Gallery of Pag Lace. As an authentic island product, Pag lace has been inscribed on the UNESCO List of Intangible Cultural Heritage.
And lastly, treat yourself to Croatia’s most precious cheese – Pag cheese, which owes its superb quality to the rocky grazing grounds abundant in medicinal plants.
