What to do and see in Plitvice?
The UNESCO-listed Plitvice Lakes National Park is the most famous national park in Croatia. It covers a large area of forest, but we think you will be most enchanted by the 16 cascading lakes connected by waterfalls and wooden paths.
And although the Plitvice Lakes have made this region famous, there are so many other attractions, adventures and natural wonders that deserve your attention. You can explore the underground world of the Barać caves, the old town of Drežnik with the remains of the defence walls, the water mill in Korana or the observatory in Korenica.
In addition to a range of adrenaline-pumping activities listed in the Active Holidays chapter, this campsite is only about an hour away from the Nikola Tesla Memorial Centre in Smiljan. This is an opportunity to introduce children to the brilliant discoveries of this ingenious scientist and inventor.
