The ERASMUS+ CAMPMASTER project - Development of a European Curriculum in the Field of Sustainable Camping Resort Management, was presented at the Multiplier Event held during the 15th Croatian Camping Congress.
At the Croatian camping congress, held in Terme Tuhelj on December 8th – 10th, 2021, organized by the Croatian Camping Association, participants had the opportunity to learn more about the Campmaster project, financed as part of the Erasmus + program. The project has been launched in October 2020, with a total eligible budget of EUR 165,892.00.
The project was created in response to the camping industry's rapidly growing need for quality trained staff with specific knowledge and skills, whereby three European universities, in partnership with national camping associations, launched an initiative to align the needs of the camping industry with the skills and qualifications that are acquired in specialized study programs at European level. The opening of the first master study program is expected as early as 2023.
In occasion of the multiplier event during the 15th Camping Congress, Adriano Palman, director of the Croatian Camping Association, addressed the audience and introduced the project, after which the initiator of the project, Ph.D. Josipa Cvelić Bonifačić presented the activities and first results of the project. At the same time, she expressed her wish and hope that the project will encourage further graduate education in the field of sustainable camping management, the potential and sustainability of which has now been recognized by the European Union. With Campmaster, the European tourist sector and all interested students get the opportunity to qualify for managerial functions at camping resorts, an opportunity which hasn’t been available to students until now.
Along with the Croatian Camping Association, the following partners participate in the project:
- University of Rijeka, Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management (Lead partner);
- Breda University of Applied Sciences (Netherlands);
- Universitat de Girona (Spain);
- Associació de Càmpings de Girona (Spain);
- The Leading Camping & Caravaning Parks of Europe e.V. (Germany).
