Rožac campsite is located on the island of Čiovo, which is connected by a bridge to the UNESCO-listed town of Trogir (1.5 km away). Guests are offered pitches and mobile homes with terraces and panoramic views of the surrounding area. The campsite stretches along a peninsula surrounded by a thick pine forest and a long pebble beach. If you are looking for a combination of camping and exploring the cultural and historical attractions offered by the nearby cities of Trogir and Split, then Rožac is the place for you!

HIGHLIGHTS:

  • excellent location near the UNESCO-listed cities of Trogir and Split
  • large pebble beach
  • water taxi from the campsite to Trogir

Accommodation options

The campsite is divided into three zones: A, B and C. The pitches in zones A and B are directly on the beach. They range in size from 60 m2 to 80 m2 and all have electricity, water and drainage. Zone C is not divided into pitches; its camping grounds are the same size as the pitches, but have electricity hook-ups only. However, their location in the first and second rows from the beach more than makes up for the lack of other facilities.

There are two types of mobile homes, all located close to the beach. They are either 24 m2 or 33 m2 in size and have a covered terrace, a fully equipped kitchen, two bedrooms, and one or two bathrooms.

The main sanitary facilities are close to the reception and include shower cabins (also for the disabled), a baby-changing area, a laundry room, a washing machine, a dishwasher, and showers for pets.

Beach

A beautiful, well-kept pebble beach runs along the entire south coast of the campsite, partly shaded by pine trees. It is 1,000 metres long and overlooks the sea and the islands of Šolta and Drvenik. Guests will be pleased to know that there is a massage area and a beach bar. The rocky northern coast of the campsite has mooring buoys and a docking pier.

Restaurants and bars

The Rožac restaurant, located in the entrance area of the campsite, offers beautiful views of the sea. The menu includes a variety of traditionally prepared meat and fish dishes, Dalmatian dishes under the bell, pizza, pasta, risotto and salads. Evenings are reserved for dinners to the sound of Dalmatian klapa singing groups. On the other side of the campsite is a beach bar, surrounded by greenery, where you can stop for a cup of coffee, a cocktail or some other refreshing drink in a magical setting.

Near the campsite, there is a grocery shop, a bakery and a newsstand.

Sports and entertainment

At Rožac campsite, you can rent bicycles, jet-skis and motor boats, and there is a boat ramp. Adults and children will enjoy the entertainment programme in the high season: aqua exercises (in the sea), creative workshops, swimming lessons, cinema evenings, and much more.

One of the main strengths of Rožac campsite is the wide range of excursions on offer, where you can explore Dalmatia’s must-sees, such as its historic towns, the islands of Drvenik and Šolta, and Krka National Park, or go on an adrenaline safari on Mount Kozjak, a rafting trip or a zip line adventure.

What to do and see near Čiovo?

The island of Čiovo is full of picturesque churches, coves and beaches that can be explored by bike. Adrenaline junkies can go quad biking on the island’s mountain trails, while boat trips to nearby islands are offered daily.

Trogir’s impressive heritage has earned it a place on the UNESCO list. The town is brimming with sacral architecture gems, including the Cathedral of St Lawrence, with a spectacular portal carved by the master sculptor Radovan. The magnificent towers of Kamerlengo and St Mark’s, linked by a seafront promenade, and the town’s squares and labyrinthine alleys are the perfect invitation to step back in time to the Renaissance and Baroque eras.

Another great option is to visit nearby Split, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, or Šibenik, a city rich in cultural heritage. The town of Omiš – once a pirate hideout under the rocks – is also not far away, and if you want to experience a true natural gem, the Krka National Park is just an hour’s drive away.
