Croatian campsites are now open for their guests!
Thanks to the very good health situation in Croatia and the opening of the borders that started in mid-May, you can finally visit your favorite campsites and enjoy in all the benefits that warmer days bring us! The only thing that is required of you (for now) is that when you cross the border, in addition to your personal documents, you also have to present a reservation confirmation from the campsite.
From 28th May 2020, guests from Germany, Austria, Slovenia, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania can enter Croatia without proving the reason for their arrival, i.e. without a booking confirmation.
For an even easier crossing of the border and a more effective epidemiological control, all foreign citizens travelling to Croatia are invited to register via the website entercroatia.mup.hr
Most campsites plan to open by the end of May, while below you can check the list of campsites that are already open:
In addition to campsites, service depots are also already open for all caravan owners.
What health measures are prescribed in the campsites?
In order to spend a carefree vacation in a safe environment, measures have been prescribed for Croatian camps at the national level, with the aim to make all guests and employees in the campsites as safe as possible.
The basic rules, similar to the ones used for other public spaces, start with the social distancing of at least 1,5 meters. This rule applies to all areas of the campsite, from swimming pools and beaches to shops and restaurants. Also, in all enclosed spaces, the maximum number of people is limited so as not to create unnecessary crowds.
Disinfectants should be available at the entrances of common areas, while information on hygienic procedures will be displayed there too. Wearing masks in common areas is not mandatory, but it is recommended.
The check-in waiting time at the reception will be reduced to a minimum, and in addition with the prescribed measures, some campsites have developed their own apps for fast online check-in. In case of need, gloves, face masks and thermometers will be available to guests (on request).
It is recommended that guests use contactless payment methods and that the check-out is announced in advance, so that the process is as quick and easy as possible.
Sanitary facilities must be disinfected at least every two hours, and the frequency of cleaning can be increased if necessary. It is suggested to use private and family bathrooms wherever possible.
In restaurants, tables must be empty (no plates, glasses, cutlery) until guests arrive, and guests in a group or family may sit at the same table while the distance from other tables must be at least 1,5 meters. After the guests leave, the table will be disinfected together with the utensils (menu, salt, pepper, oil, etc.). The bars are open, and they also have rules such as table distancing while there is a ban on serving shared snacks.
