Fall in love with Istria

Follow the coast from north to south zigzagging all the while towards the interior! Admire the stunning historical cores in Umag, Novigrad, Poreč, Rovinj, Pula, each with its own unique story and remarkable sights such as UNESCO’S World Heritage Site - Basilica of St Euphrasius (Poreč) or Roman amphitheatre Arena (Pula). Let wonders of nature such as Lim Channel, Brijuni National Park and the southernmost point of Istria Kamenjak Nature Park take your breath away. Don’t forget to take a pick among magical hilltop towns inland such as Grožnjan, Motovun, Višnjan, Pazin, Svetvinčenat and include them on your way southwards.

Beauty of Kvarner islands

Explore the eastern coast of Istria with Učka Nature Park and start your island hopping adventure from there! Take a ferry in Brestova to reach Cres island, then visit the griffon vultures reserve in Beli and the ancient town of Cres, climb to Lubenice for spectacular views and cross a bridge in Osor to reach Lošinj. Find out more about the stories of Mali Lošinj and Veli Lošinj towns and catch sight of dolphins, before heading back to Cres to get on a ferry from Merag to Krk. Explore the most impressive sights on the island including the historical core of Krk town and the town of Vrbnik on top of a cliff before heading back to the mainland over Krk Bridge.

The road to and through Dalmatia

Follow the scenic so-called Adriatic Highway southwards and divert from it for extra adventure and extraordinary experience! Enjoy the sight of the sea on the one side and Velebit mountain on the other, pass Senj, a town famous for bora wind and the fortress, hop to the romantic Rab island and then head to Pag to admire the rich heritage of Pag town and to have fun on Zrće beach, one of the most popular party destinations in Croatia.

After crossing Pag Bridge towards the mainland, continue along the road to reach the once royal town of Nin and outstanding Zadar, famous for its modern attractions - Sea Organ and Greetings to the Sun. Hop to the green island of Ugljan and continue onto Pašman island across the bridge, then use the opportunity to sail to Kornati National Park and Telašćica Nature Park from there. Absolute must-sees on the mainland also include Šibenik with its UNESCO World Heritage Sites, as well as breathtaking Krka National Park.

Explore central and southern Dalmatia by continuing along Adriatic Highway hopping onto the wonderful islands of your choice. Pass through Trogir, whose historical core has been listed as UNESCO World Heritage Site together with Diocletian’s Palace in Split, a true Mediterranean beauty.

On your way to the south, stop by Omiš and go on a rafting adventure on the Cetina river, have a swim on the lovely beaches in Makarska with Biokovo mountain in the background, and continue past Pelješac peninsula until you finally reach the pearl of the Adriatic Sea - Dubrovnik with its famous historical core and walls (UNESCO World Heritage Site). Along the way, remember to plan a few trips onto the islands such as Brač, Hvar, Korčula and Mljet, whose rich cultural-historical heritage and outstanding nature takes your breath away.

Start your inland trip with Croatia’s most visited national park - Plitvice Lakes and recharge in wonderful nature, walking past turquoise lakes and waterfalls. Spend a day or two in Croatia’s vibrant capital Zagreb and enjoy its lively ambiance. Continue your trip northwards, pick a thermal spa to relax before you discover the hills and castles of Hrvatsko Zagorje such as Veliki Tabor and Trakošćan in addition to Krapina Neanderthal Museum.
