For camping lovers who want complete freedom and a holiday in contact with nature, the Baldarin naturist campsite on the southernmost point of Cres Island is an ideal refuge. It is located in the village of Punta Križa and offers accommodation along a rocky coastline stretching for two kilometres. It is mainly a naturist campsite, with a section for textiles. Baldarin is famous for its waters, which are said to be home to 150 dolphins, while its dense Mediterranean forest provides shelter for deer and roe deer. Anyone who wants to get away from the hustle and bustle and connect with an environment of unique beauty will find their place here.

HIGHLIGHTS:

  • combined naturist and textile campsite
  • part of the campsite is a rich Mediterranean forest
  • two-kilometre-long unspoilt beach along the seaside
  • daily boat line to Mali Lošinj on the neighbouring island of Lošinj

  • an innovative online booking system that enables a detailed view of each campsite pitch before making a reservation

Accommodation options

The pitches range from 55 to 169 m2 and have electricity and water connections, depending on the type. The Superior Mare and Superior pitches are in front of the sea, while the Premium and Standard pitches are in the shade of the Mediterranean forest. There is also a part which is not divided into plots, known as the „Robinson area“ because of the dense forest which allows guests to enjoy all the natural beauty of the island.

For those wanting a more luxurious camping experience, glamping tents are available for two to five people. The largest have an en-suite bathroom, two bedrooms, a kitchen and a covered patio, while the others share a sanitary facility close to the glamping area.

There are also mobile homes equipped for a carefree holiday in nature, with two bedrooms, a kitchen, a living room and a bathroom. They also have a covered terrace with table, chairs, sun loungers, and a private parking space.

At Baldarin you can rent a fully equipped caravan with a tent for five if you don’t have one of your own and don’t feel that comfortable in a tent. It is equipped with a cooker, fridge and tableware, and boasts an excellent location: between 20 and 40 metres from the sea!

The campsite has seven modern sanitary facilities, including children’s toilets and a changing room, areas for ironing and washing clothes and dishes, toilets for the disabled and the possibility of renting a family bathroom.

Beaches

The indented coastline is two kilometres long and mostly rocky, with paved access to the beach. Ideal for swimming with children is the Bokinić pebble beach, in the textile section of the campsite. There is also a beach bar, a children’s playground with a sandbox, and a sports centre.

In the naturist area there is also a pebble beach with a children’s playground and the Lučica restaurant. The beach is ideal for relaxing to the sound of the sea and, if you feel like exploring, there is a cave nearby.

All of the campsite’s beaches have paved access to the sea and are fenced off with a safety line, while boaters have a boat ramp at their disposal.

There is also a dog beach and a number of secluded beaches where you can enjoy complete peace and quiet.

Restaurants, bars and shops

The Lučica restaurant in the cove of the same name serves fish and seafood. The campsite also has a pizzeria, a bar in Bokinić Bay, a stand selling fresh fish three times a week, and a well-stocked grocery store. All are open from April to September.

Sports and entertainment

The campsite offers sports facilities such as tennis, beach volleyball, basketball, football, table tennis and mini golf. An entertainment programme is organised for the youngest. Cres is a perfect destination for active holidays, so be sure to explore the hiking, mountain and cycling trails that lead to shepherds’ huts, drystone walls, centuries-old olive groves and spectacular viewpoints.

Nature lovers and adventurers will want to discover the rocky coves along the campsite’s coastline. As well as offering privacy and peaceful surroundings, their rather inaccessible terrain makes them ideal for diving and exploring the underwater world.

What to do and see on the island of Cres?

Cres is an island of amazing natural beauty and rich cultural heritage. Visit the historic town of Cres, where you can explore the narrow stone alleys, the remains of the walls and the old harbour. Visit the small town of Beli with its Rescue Centre for Griffon Vultures, a must for families with children. Fifteen kilometres from the campsite is one of the oldest settlements on the Croatian coast, strategically located on the channel separating the islands of Cres and Lošinj.

For the more active, Cres offers about 300 kilometres of walking and cycling trails that wind through picturesque villages and untamed landscapes where flocks of sheep graze. Visit Lubenice, an authentic village perched on a 378-metre cliff overlooking the crystal-clear sea.

Unspoilt beaches of Cres are among the most beautiful in Croatia: Valun, Plave grote, Sveti Blaž and Nedomišje are true jewels.

If you are interested in local specialities, we recommend seafood, Cres lamb, sheep’s cheese and homemade olive oil.
