Campsite Slatina is located on the southwest coast of the island of Cres, near Martinšćica, on a terraced slope with a sea view from almost every pitch. The campsite’s beach is long and narrow, with two pebble coves. Thanks to the „Camping cum cane“ programme, it is particularly popular among guests travelling with dogs. It also attracts sports enthusiasts and boat owners who can moor in Tiha Bay. The waters around Cres and Lošinj are home to playful dolphins, while the land is a habitat for various birds, including the magnificent griffon vulture.

HIGHLIGHTS:

  • peaceful location on an island of exceptional biodiversity
  • spacious pebble beaches in the sheltered bays of Slatina and Tiha
  • pet-friendly campsite with excellent facilities for dogs

Accommodation options

The campsite offers both pitches and camping spots. The latter are ideal for guests with medium-sized tents and campers. These spots come with electricity, cannot be reserved, and are subject to availability on arrival.

The other area of the campsite is divided into 5 types of pitches, all with electricity, most with water hook-ups, and some with drainage. They range in size from 24 m2 to a generous 180 m2.

Modern and functional mobile homes provide a high level of comfort and are the first choice for families. Spread across three villages, they can accommodate 4 to 6 people. Depending on the type, the mobile homes include a kitchen, living room, terrace, 2 or 3 bedrooms, and 1 or 2 bathrooms. Particularly luxurious are Freedhome and NEXT 2023 mobile homes, located in a prime position in Slatina Bay, just steps from the sea. With large glass walls and terraces, they are perfect for enjoying stunning views.

Six modern sanitary facilities include children’s bathrooms, baby changing areas, a private family bathroom for hire, washing machines, dryers, and chemical toilet disposal points. One facility is fully adapted for the disabled.

Beaches

The campsite stretches along two pebble bays with beaches, Slatina and Tiha, which are ideal for families with children. Slatina Beach is not only one of the most beautiful beaches on the island of Cres, but is also well-equipped, with restaurants, sports and entertainment facilities, showers, and changing cabins.

Tiha Beach, also pebbled, offers stunning natural surroundings and breathtaking views, as well as moorings for boats. Nearby, you’ll find secluded beaches perfect for naturists and several dog-friendly beaches.

Restaurant and shop

Campers can enjoy a variety of dining options, starting with the Žal restaurant in Slatina Bay, which offers a rich selection of Cres and international dishes. From local lamb to fresh seafood and tasty vegetables drizzled with homemade olive oil, every meal is a delight. Pizzeria San Martino serves delicious pizzas, pasta, and fish dishes, while Bar Timun provides refreshing drinks and live music for a cosy evening atmosphere.

For your convenience, the campsite has a supermarket, fresh fish stand, bakery, and kiosk.

Sports and entertainment

During the season, the campsite offers a wide range of entertainment programmes for children, including a kids’ park. Highlights include eco-workshops and wool souvenir-making workshops, where children can learn about the values and traditions of the island.

Sports enthusiasts can enjoy mini golf, badminton, basketball, beach volleyball, diving school, yoga, and pilates, as well as boat hire. For boat owners, the campsite provides numbered berths in Tiha Bay, a boat ramp, and trailer parking.

Dog owners can take advantage of a free dog trainer, dog parkour course, grooming salon, several dog-friendly beaches, showers and walking trails.

For those looking to explore the island, bike rental is available, along with access to scenic cycling trails. The campsite also organizes kayak tours, guided dolphin-watching excursions, and thrilling quad adventures.

What to do and see on Cres Island?

The island of Cres offers a tapestry of experiences woven from natural beauty, tradition, and captivating biodiversity. Begin your adventure with a hike through its fragrant forests, then descend to breathtaking beaches like the one in Lubenice, ranked among the world’s 40 most beautiful beaches by Bild magazine. The easiest way to get there is by organized boat trips from the nearby town of Martinšćica.

Take a stroll through Osor, the town of sculptures, where a bridge connects Cres and Lošinj, and don’t miss the charming village of Lubenice, perched on a steep cliff. In Beli, you’ll fall in love with both the quaint stone-paved old town and the magnificent griffon vultures. Learn about their coexistence with the local community at the Griffon Vulture Rescue Centre. For the more adventurous, there’s a zipline soaring 35 metres above a stunning pebble beach.

To complete your visit, savor local specialties in one of the traditional konobas in the town of Cres, such as fish stews (buzara) or dishes prepared under the peka, a traditional bell-shaped lid used for slow cooking.
